Your Back-To-School Food Planner
The kids are back to school and you're back to business after a relaxing summer. But! You don't have to sacrifice eating healthy just because you're all busy. We pulled together recipes and tips for easy family meals, creative lunches, and quick snacks that will ease back-to-school stress for you and your kids.
20 Minute Meals
Save time on weeknights by setting aside an hour or two on the weekend to:
-Chop & portion meat, veggies & fruit so they're ready to go when you're ready to cook.
-Make up batches of easy sides like (cauliflower) rice, (quinoa) pasta, and rinse and chop lettuce for salads.
Kid-Friendly Lunches
Pasta & Broccoli Pesto Tuna Salad & Cranberries Lemon Garlic Chicken
When it comes to lunches, think leftovers! Rather than serving the same meal again for lunch, these ideas lend themselves to repurposing:-Shred the chicken and stuff it into tortillas or make it into chicken salad.
-Same for the tuna—roll it up in a tortilla or serve it up with crackers.
Quick & Easy Snacks
Sweet Potato Dip Guac & Plantain Chips Chia Coconut Pudding
Be ready when a snack attack hits! We're fans of dedicated snack storage areas in the fridge and pantry:-Place a clear plastic bin at eye level in the fridge and fill it with fruit (orange segments, grapes), string cheese, assorted veggies (baby carrots, celery sticks), deli meat roll-ups, & hummus.
-Place a tray in the pantry and stock it with nuts, dried fruit, organic cereal mix, fruit leathers, and organic fish crackers or pretzels in snack-size bags or containers.
